OR ÉGYPTIEN

The Concept For Or Égyptien Started With A Family Visit To The Ancient Pyramids. The Most Highly Prized Perfumes Of The Ancient World Came From Egypt, Which Along With Geranium, Jasmine, Green Leaf And Rose Buds Are At The Heart Of This Fragrance. The Circumpunct Dot, Central To This Design Represents Gold.

It Is Also An Ancient Egyptian Hieroglyph For The Sun. Because Much Of Their Art Was Religious, The Ancient Egyptians Used Colour Symbolically To Convey Messages. The Blue Colour Lapis Lazuli, A Semi Precious Stone, Corresponded With Joy. Gold Corresponds With The Deity Of The Sun.

COLOGNE RETRO

A re-creation of what our dad used to wear back in the day. You could smell it as he left for work early in the morning but it would be gone when he came home, masked by cigar smoke. The pattern is inspired by a vague memory of classic hexagonal floor tiles whilst playing around our grandfathers house in Belgium.

We have tried to re work this memory using top notes of bergamot, mandarin and lemon with neroli, petit grain, orange flower, jasmine and hints of musk and amber to add a masculine touch

BASILICA

The Cosmati were an Italian family of architects in the 12th and 13th centuries who, among other things designed geometric and circular mosaic floors in cathedrals. We were so taken by these patterns from our visits to cathedrals in Rome and Tuscany that we have brought our own version to life in these porcelain candle and diffuser vases. Notes of aromatic incense, fonts of holy water, church flowers, amber and aged solid oak wood panelling, bring the essence of these beautiful churches into your home.

SAHARA

One of our family here at ILUM, ran the world’s toughest race, the Marathon des Sables in the Sahara dessert. This design is for him. The circular patterns represent the sand dunes and the searing heat of the sun. At night and in the early morning a fragrant breeze flowed through the dessert and would fill the senses with an intense accord of soft bergamot, scorching incense and soft woody notes.
